This page covers this website and the Tabby app: what we collect, who can see it, and who helps us run things.
Waitlist. Your email address and the time you signed up.
If you host a bill in the app. Your name and email, your phone number if you choose to add it, the payment usernames you choose to add (Venmo, Cash App, PayPal, Zelle, Apple Cash), and the bills you create: the restaurant, the items and prices, tax, tip, and who claimed what.
Notifications. If you allow notifications, we save a token for your phone so we can tell you when a friend pays. Turn them off any time in your phone's Settings.
If a friend sends you a Tabby link. You don't need an account or the app. The page requires your name and email so your host can see who claimed what and we can email you your share. There's an unchecked box if you also want news about Tabby.
Receipt photos. When a host scans a receipt, the photo is sent to Anthropic's Claude AI to read the items and prices. We save the items it finds, not the photo.
The receipt demo on the home page runs in your browser and doesn't send anything to us.
Anyone with a bill's link can see its items, the names of the people who joined and what they claimed, the host's first name, and the payment usernames the host added so friends can pay them back. Links are long random codes, so only share them with the people at your table.
Friends never see a host's phone number or email. A friend's email is visible only to the host of that bill.
We use it to run Tabby: splitting the bill, showing the right payment buttons, and emailing each friend a recap of their share. A host's email is also used to sign in, confirm the account, and reset a password. We email waitlist members a confirmation when they sign up and again when Tabby launches. We only send other news if you asked for it.
Your data is stored in a database hosted by Supabase. Emails are sent through Resend, this site is hosted on Vercel, and receipt photos are read by Anthropic. They handle data only to provide those services to us. We don't sell your data or share it with advertisers.
Reply "unsubscribe" to any Tabby email to stop getting emails. To delete a host account and its bills, tap Delete account on the Account screen in the app. To delete anything else, write to hello@splitwithtabby.com and we'll take care of it.
