Terms of Use

Last updated October 1, 2026

These terms cover the Tabby app, Tabby bill links, and this website. By using any of them, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use Tabby.

What Tabby does

Tabby helps a group split a restaurant or bar bill. A host scans the receipt, shares a link, and everyone claims what they had. Tabby works out each person's share, including tax and tip, and shows buttons to pay the host through apps like Venmo, Cash App, Zelle, PayPal, and Apple Cash.

Tabby never handles money

Tabby is not a bank, payment processor, or money transmitter. Payments happen entirely inside those other apps, between you and your friends, under those apps' own terms. We can't send, hold, refund, or reverse a payment, and we're not responsible for whether someone pays you back or for any problem with a payment app.

Check the numbers

Receipts are read by AI, which can make mistakes. Hosts can review and fix every item before sharing, and everyone should check their share before paying. Tabby's totals are a helpful estimate, not a guarantee. If there's a mismatch with the actual bill, the receipt wins.

Your account and your links

You need to be at least 13 to use Tabby. If you create a host account, give us accurate information and keep your phone and login secure. You're responsible for what happens under your account.

Anyone with a bill's link can open it, so only share links with the people at your table. Our Privacy Policy explains what a link shows and how we handle your information.

Fair use

Don't use Tabby to break the law, mislead or harass people, upload anything that isn't a receipt or that you don't have the right to share, or try to break, overload, or get around how Tabby works. We may suspend or remove accounts and bills that do.

Your content

You own the receipts, names, and bill details you add. You give us permission to store and process them only so we can run Tabby for you and the people you share bills with. Tabby's name, mascot, design, and app belong to us.

The App Store

If you got Tabby from Apple's App Store, these terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple isn't responsible for the app or its support, and Apple's own App Store terms also apply.

No warranty

Tabby is provided "as is." We work hard to keep it accurate and running, but we can't promise it will always be available, error-free, or right about every number.

Limits on our liability

To the extent the law allows, Tabby isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for disputes between you and the people you split a bill with. Our total liability for any claim is limited to $50 or what you paid us in the past 12 months, whichever is more.

Waitlist

If you join the waitlist, we'll email you a confirmation and again when Tabby launches. Reply "unsubscribe" to any email to stop hearing from us.

Changes and ending use

We may update these terms as Tabby grows. If a change is significant, we'll let you know in the app or by email, and the date at the top will change. You can stop using Tabby at any time and ask us to delete your data.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
